Good Morning, Musicologists! Tom Petty Month gets underway in a serious manner today with music from their legendary residency at the Fillmore West in 1997.

Here’s today’s line-up:
11:00 a.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Live at The Fillmore, San Francisco, January 10-February 7, 1997
This is just over three hours of music recorded during The Heartbreakers’ legendary residency at The Fillmore West back in 1997. It is testament to the fact that this band is undoubtedly one of the greatest bands ever to step onto a stage and engage with an audience. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen better, and I’ve seen a hell of a lot of live performances in my lifetime.
7:00 p.m. Album of The Week: The Traveling Wilburys, Volume One FINAL AIRING
We bid a fond farewell to Volume One of the Traveling Wilburys two great albums. We’ll have the other sometime during Tom Petty Month for sure.
10:00 p.m. LIVE DEAD! The Grateful Dead Live at Cotterell Court, Colgate University, Hamilton, NY, November 4, 1977 NEW!
Yet another great live performance from the music world’s untiring, insatiable jam band who made college stops a staple during their lifetime. No matter what anyone tells you, The Dead ain’t The Dead without Jerry Garcia.
Before, in between, and after our programming we’ll give you our standard rotation of 27,000+ songs in Open Stream, without commercial interruption and without the chatty DJ’s. We’re free too, and that makes it even better.
