We’re at Midweek With ‘The Original Sixties Rotation’ EP, Ray Davies as Singer-Songwriter & the Marshall Tucker Band In the Spotlight, Wednesday, August 23, 2023

Good morning, music lovers everywhere! We’ve got a great lineup today starting with the sixties for hours, then we move on to Ray Davies and The Marshall Tucker Band.

Here’s your midweek lineup:

9:00 a.m. The Original Sixties Rotation: Various Artists

We’re back with the early through mid-sixties (although we can’t guarantee there won’t be some late sixties stuff mixed in). You’ll hear Del Shannon, Little Eva, The Drifters, The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Hollies, The Walker Brothers, Mary Wells, Dusty Springfield, The Searchers, The Monkees, Sonny & Cher, Petula Clark, Glen Campbell, Johnny Rivers, the Dave Clark Five, The Supremes, Harry Nilsson, The Band, The Yardbirds, the Kinks, Simon & Garfunkel, Blind Faith, Janis Joplin, Chuck Berry, The Temptations, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, The Who, Bob Dylan, Tony Joe White, Barry McGuire, Procol Harum, Fats Domino and more!

4:00 p.m. Singer-Songwriter Series; The Music of Ray Davies

The heart and soul of The Kinks takes his second turn as our featured singer-songwriter!

I remember loving these guys in the seventies, and even saw them live a couple of times. They’re still out there, but the band has changed members a ton of times over the past fifty years. One thing remains constant: They put together a string of great songs in the seventies that deserves our attention.

It’s Full-Blown Tuesday Bluesday With Our Big, Bad Blues EP, ‘Live’ Tedeschi Trucks & Paul Butterfield With the AOW, August 22, 2023

Good morning, bluesologists and welcome back to another Tuesday Bluesday. Today it’s the trifecta of da blues, not an every Tuesday occurrence!

Here’s your Tuesday Bluesday lineup:

9:00 a.m. Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blues: Various Artists

This is our big, bad, all-encompassing blues EP that brings you the finest in blues across the board with Delbert McClinton, B. B. King, Little Walter, Slim Harpo, Ry Cooder, Canned Heat, Koko Taylor, John Lee Hooker, The Animals, Albert King, Johnny Winter, Muddy Waters, Little Feat, Bonnie Raitt, The Yardbirds, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, Bobby “Blue” Bland, The Allman Brothers Band, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Elmore James, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Robert Cray Band, J. J. Cale, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, James Cotton, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Marcia Ball, Susan Tedeschi, Roomful of Blues, Howlin’ Wolf, Tracy Nelson, Linda Ronstadt, Robert Johnson and more!

4:00 p.m. Album of The Week: North South by Paul Butterfield Blues Band

Paul Butterfield and his bandmates take their second turn with our Album of The Week.

7:00 p.m. Tedeschi-Trucks Band Live at The Fox Theatre, Oakland, CA, Recorded Live September 8 & 9, 2016

Undoubtedly the biggest, baddest electric blues band around with the finest lead guitarist in Derek Trucks and the perfect front woman in Boston’s own Susan Tedeschi. They’re coming to Boston in September. If I were still doing big venues (which I’m not), I’d be there for sure. If you’re still into big venues, don’t miss them. Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real is the opening act and they don’t suck either.

Tuesday Bluesday is always a full house. We have Japan, Spain, the UK, Italy, Greece, The Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Germany, Texas, Maine, and Cali on already. Join us. We’re on 24/7 and we’re totally free of advertising. No joining fees. No credit card required.
