Good morning, musicologists! We stay out of Boston today because it’s Marathon Monday here and the town is crawling with runners and fans alike, but we’ve got a great music marathon going on here in The Mermaid Lounge!

Here’s today’s musical marathon:
10:00 a.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Live at The Dean Smith Center, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, September 13, 1989 NEW!
We have a live performance by the Heartbreakers that we’ve never aired here before to start your day. This one comes from 1989 and is on the grounds of the University of North Carolina. It’s a great 16-song set.
3:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Rascals
Undoubtedly one of the best bands of the sixties and early seventies. Between 1966 and 1968 this band owned the airwaves, charting nine singles in the Billboard Top 20 and they were all killers.
7:00 p.m. The Doors Live at Cobo Arena, Detroit, MI, May 8, 1970
Tonight we give you The Doors live from Detroit on the Roadhouse Blues Tour. A great way to close out the programming.
We’re here every day on a 24/7 basis with no commercial advertising and without asking you for money or personal information. We’re all about the music.
