Good morning, bluesologists, and welcome to Tuesday Bluesday, one of our busiest days of the week. Hell, there’s plenty of room for everyone here in The Mermaid Lounge.

Here’s your Tuesday Bluesday lineup:
9:00 a.m. The Best of Louisiana Blues: Various Artists
I’ve been to New Orleans many times in my life, and there are two things that make the trip worthwhile: The food and the music. You’ll hear Ray Charles, Lillian Glinn, Slim Harpo, Roy Brown, Fats Domino, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Rodney Harris, Roosevelt Sykes, Shirley & Lee, Papa Lightfoot, Guitar Slim, Annie Laurie, Fats Matthews, Big Joe Turner, Big Boy Myles, Little Walter, Mary Butler, Erline Harris, Marcia Ball, Dave Bartholomew, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, The Neville Brothers, Irma Thomas and more!
4:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Paul Butterfield Blues Band’s Lost Elektra Sessions NEW!
This ‘find’ are the unreleased recordings for the band’s 1964 debut album. Nobody can say why they were shelved. The playlist includes early versions of some of their classic songs, and some songs that only a few people heard prior to this release. These songs were recorded prior to keyboardist Mark Naftalin joined the group. Enjoy.
8:00 p.m. Janis Joplin & The Kozmic Blues Band Live at The Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, Netherlands, April 11, 1969
We get into the Wayback Machine for this one, as we close out the evening with Janis and her blues band.
Before, in between, and after you’re always treated to our big, wide Open Stream. We’re totally free. We don’t run any commercial advertising. We don’t have DJs who talk aimlessly. We’re all about the music. Just hit the button below.
