Good morning, musicologists and welcome back to the work week! We’ve got a Laurel Canyon lineup for you today, since we’re starting our with that great EP!

Here’s Monday’s musical lineup:
9:00 a.m. Music From Laurel Canyon: Various Artists
Laurel Canyon was an oasis of shared musical creativity that spanned two generations of musicians, creating the sound that would challenge the chart prowess of the British Invasion bands. You’ll hear The Byrds, The Mamas & The Papas, Buffalo Springfield, The Beach Boys, The Doors, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, The Monkees, CSNY, Manassas, John Mayall, The Eagles, J.D. Souther, Harry Nilsson, Canned Heat, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, James Taylor, Joan Baez, Judy Collins and more!
4:00 p.m. The Byrds Live at Royal Albert Hall, London, UK, May 13, 1971
This afternoon we feature The Byrds in a live performance from Royal Albert Hall. These guys invented that great twangy 12-string sound that certainly influenced Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
8:00 p.m. In The Spotlight: The Music of The Mamas & The Papas
Yet another band whose influence is felt until this very day even though they recorded and only performed between 1965 and 1968. The Mamas & The Papas made a hell of a lot of great music and have left an indelible mark.
We’re here whether we have programming or not. Before, in between and after we have that great wide Open Stream that goes on and on 24/7. Use the button below.
