It’s a Typical Saturday With Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne & Warren Zevon Together, Our Final Airing of “Wrecking Ball” by Emmylou Harris, and Live Dead, February 27, 2021

Good Morning, Music Lovers! Saturday is our busiest programming day by far, but the vast majority of our 24-hour music cycle remains devoted to wide open stream.

Linds Ronstadt. Nobody touches this voice.

Here’s our Saturday line-up:

11:00 a.m. In The Spotlight: The Music of Linda Ronstadt

We open our programming with the Queen of Rock. She retains that title to this day, as far as we here in The Mermaid Lounge are concerned. It’s more than just the voice (although that would be enough). It’s the music selection, the genres she was able to master, and the way she defied the “experts” in her field who predicted her demise for changing music styles. She’s the package, people.

3:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Wrecking Ball by Emmylou Harris FINAL AIRING!

We follow that up with a very good friend of Linda’s, and her career redefining album, Wrecking Ball. This is our final airing before a new album is introduced tomorrow.

6:00 p.m. Jackson Browne & Warren Zevon, Live Acoustic Set at VPRO Studios, December 8, 1976

Two good friends and two extraordinary songwriters get together to sing each other’s tunes. A great take.

10:00 p.m. Live Dead! The Grateful Dead Live at The Deer Creek Music Center, Noblesville, Indiana, July 2, 1995 NEW!

Another new performance by The Dead, this one from the Deer Creek Music Center, which has been renamed about five times since then. But no matter, when it comes to The Grateful Dead, no two shows sound the same, even when they’re part of the same tour.

Tune us in, people. It’s Saturday. I don’t know what it’s doing where you are, but the weather has finally turned dismal here today, so it’s time to put our feet up and enjoy the music! We don’t have to give you a free trial. We’re free all the time.
