It’s A Mermaid Lounge Monday With Linda Ronstadt Live in Boston, John Prine In the Spotlight, and Plenty of Music Under the Sun & Moon Later, November 1, 2021

Not only is it the beginning of another work week, but it’s the start of another month. The winter is slowly rolling in, the temps are chilly, but we’ve got just the stuff to keep you warm all winter here in The Mermaid Lounge.

We put John Prine In the Spotlight this afternoon!

Here’s your Monday line-up:

11:00 a.m. Linda Ronstadt Live at The Orpheum Theatre, Boston, MA, May 14, 1995

This is the infamously great concert with Valerie Carter as the opener and on stage with Linda backing her up during the main event. The good music fairy was shining down that day. It’s not often you get to see two great singers together on the same stage, but I was fortunate on this particular night.

3:00 p.m. In The Spotlight: The Music of John Prine

John Prine was a genuine original, a country-folk singer-songwriter who often used his great wit and introspection to write (sometimes) humorous songs containing elements of protest and social commentary. I was fortunate to see him once during my lifetime (and his), but wish it had been more. We own all of his material here in The Mermaid Lounge and we’ll play it for you later today.

7:00 p.m. Under the Sun & Moon: Various Artists

Another of our original playlists here with references to the sun and moon in the title, lyrics, or both. You’ll hear from Tom Rush, Little Feat, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, The Doors, Foo Fighters, The Kinks, The Wallflowers, Donovan, The Traveling Wilburys, and more!

Mondays are difficult at best. You will make your day so much better if you take the time to tune us in. It’s just so damned easy it isn’t funny. Pull up a tab and click the link below. You’ll see. It doesn’t cost you a penny or require any effort on your part beyond that.
