Tune in, Turn On, and Drop Out With ‘The Psychedelic Express’ EP, Our AOW, and LIVE DEAD! Later On, Saturday, January 22, 2022

Good Morning, Psychedelic Music Lovers! One of my favorite rock genres is in the limelight today. We’ve also got the final airing of Raising Sand, and LIVE DEAD! later tonight.

The Beatles fully embraced the psychedelic music sound, but they are just one of the bands you’ll hear today!

Here’s your Saturday line-up:

11:00 a.m. The Psychedelic Express: Various Artists

This is, without a doubt, one of our favorite EPs here in The Mermaid Lounge. As I recall, we had a great time expanding this from its initial version. You’ll hear Vanilla Fudge, The Chambers Brothers, The Beatles, The Electric Prunes, The Animals, Jefferson Airplane, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Blues Image, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Cream, The Rolling Stones, Traffic, Dr. John, Procol Harum, Grateful Dead, The Velvet Underground, Donovan, The Byrds, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Kenny Rogers & The First Edition, the Crazy World of Arthur Brown, and more!

7:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Raising Sand by Alison Krauss & Robert Plant FINAL AIRING!

We say farewell to this great album this evening. Tomorrow morning when you roll out of bed, we’ll have a brand new selection for your listening pleasure.

10:00 p.m. LIVE DEAD! The Grateful Dead Live at The Coliseum, New Haven, CT, May 5, 1977 NEW!

We have another great soundboard recording from the ultimate road warriors here, and this time with their Wall of Sound. This is a new entry to our LIVE DEAD! series, and we hope you enjoy it.

Before, in between, and after it’s wide Open Stream. We are never off the air; we run 24/7 uninterrupted by commercial advertising or endlessly talking DJ’s. This is a labor of love, and we’re proud of the work we do here in The Mermaid Lounge. Tune us in.
