Good Morning, Bluesologists! We’ve got some new-to-the-station blues for you today that revolves around a certain blues fan. We also bring you some Joplin-style blues later.

11:00 a.m. Gunsmoke Blues: Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thornton, Big Joe Turner, and George “Harmonica” Smith NEW!

As legend has it, blues music freak Link Wyler and some of his friends who worked on the Gunsmoke TV show were on hiatus from filming. They decided to his the road to film their favorite blues singers, who happened to be barnstorming the nation with their bands. This is the result of that music obsession.

3:00 p.m. Album of The Week: The Lost Tapes, Volume Two by Valerie Carter

We’ve got our second airing of this great album coming up mid-afternoon as Valerie Carter displays her considerable soul and R & B side.

7:00 p.m. Janis Joplin Live at The Fillmore East, New York City, February 12, 1969

We haven’t heard ‘live’ Janis for a while, and this is the perfect day to do just that. This one is from The Fillmore East. We have one great blues-rock legend singing at a legendary venue.
