Today we begin with the man credited with starting the whole singer-songwriter thing. I saw this guy when he was young, and I saw him as he celebrated his 79th birthday (one day after mine) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He was as excellent as I remembered him.

As with all things sixties, it burned brightly and churned out a bunch of great music that was actually heard around the world. We were paying attention to the British Invasion, but most didn’t realize they were listening to us. It used to be Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, and they were a blues band. Then, they added Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham and went pop-rock. Meanwhile, Peter Green remained true to the blues. Today we have Peter Green’s Splinter Group live from Germany to close out the Tuesday Bluesday programming.
