The Lost Cream Tapes, The Wailers at the Beacon, Lennon in the Spotlight & Let’s “Eat A Peach,” Tuesday, February 11, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! We’re back on the programming track today as we move toward our N’Awlins Mardi Gras Extravaganza.

bob Marley

Here’s Tuesday’s line-up:

11:00 a.m.     ACID: The Lost Cream Tapes (1967)

2:00 p.m.       Bob Marley & The Wailers: Live at the Beacon Theater (1976)

The Beacon is one great venue; the place to be. Smaller and more intimate. Bands would play as many nights there as it took to satisfy the customer demand rather than play in an arena.

5:00 p.m.       In the Spotlight: The Music of John Lennon

9:00 p.m.      Album of the Week: Eat A Peach by The Allman Brothers Band

Tune us in at www.tinyurl.com/becomeungovernableradio

Did I mention that we are 24/7 and open streaming the best music on the planet in between and around all of this great programming?

Bob Marley at The Beacon, Joni Mitchell at Red Rocks, Our Folk Music Playlist, and a New Album of the Week, Sunday, December 22, 2019

Good Morning, Ungovernables! We’ve got a full slate today, including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Hypnotic Eye as our Album of the Week!

joni

Here’s today’s line up!

11:00 a.m.     Bob Marley & The Wailers Live at The Beacon Theater, New York

2:00 p.m.       Album of the Week: Hypnotic Eye, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

It should be no surprise that this is one great album. Just when I thought they’d never top or even equal Damn The Torpedoes, they did. The only surprise here is that this band continued to make great music and remain at the top so late into its career.

This was the band’s 13th and final studio album before Petty’s unexpected and untimely death, and was released on July 29, 2014. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200.

5:00 p.m.      Joni Mitchell Live at Red Rocks 1983

9:00 p.m.      Folk Music From A to Z

Hear Woody and Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Judy Collins, Odetta, Joni Mitchell, and more!

Tune us in, people. You won’t regret it.

9:00 p.m.       Bob Marley & The Wailers Live at The Beacon Theater (1976)

11:00 p.m.     Strike Watch with Adam Rice

2:00 p.m.       Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Live at The Warehouse, New Orleans, Part 2

Did you know that the original Fleetwood Mac’s singer was a guy named Peter Green, not a girl named Stevie Nicks? And did you know that Black Magic Woman was originally a Fleetwood Mac song, not a Santana original? You do now!

5:00 p.m.       Bob Dylan & George Harrison Almost Went To See Elvis (1997)

Bob and George were supposed to do a recording session with Elvis. According to Bob, Elvis never showed up. But according to George Harrison, it was not Elvis who stood them up. It was the other way around.
