11:00 a.m.     Album of the Week: Wanted! The Outlaws. by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessi Colter, and Tompall Glaser. 

This was basically a compilation album released in 1976 to capitalize on the “outlaw” country movement, which turned into one of the most popular country albums of all time, reaching no. 1 on the country charts and no. 10 on the pop charts. It was the first country album to be certified platinum (reaching sales of $1 million). The album also produced two singles, both featuring Waylon Jennings.

A play list focusing on the subject of the new documentary, “Echoes in the Canyon,” which chronicles the birth of the California sound as it came together in Laurel Canyon. Featuring the songs of The Mamas & The Papas, The Lovin’ Spoonful (pictured), Jackson Browne, The Byrds, and Joni Mitchell.

5:00 p.m.    In the Spotlight: The Music of The Shelters (Updated)

When we put together this play list originally (a few months ago), the Shelters were riding the success of their first album under the guidance and production of Tom Petty. Since then, their second album has been released and we have updated the play list to reflect that.
