In 1992, labor historian Howard Zinn gave a lecture called The History Of The American Working Class. The presentation took place in San Francisco at an educational forum sponsored by the Labor Video Project.

4:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of Warren Zevon

Yet another brilliant singer-songwriter gone way too soon, Warren Zevon was no ordinary guy. He lived life on his own terms, made some of the most incredible vehicles for Linda Ronsadt’s voice, released one of the music world’s best albums ever in Excitable Boy, and died with dignity.

Who better to give us the facts than William Blum, who spent a lifetime fighting American imperialism.

Good Morning, Ungovernables. We start out the day the way we usually do, with non-stop rock, rhythm and blues, and then we move into our specific set lists and informational shows.

We operate from 6:00 a.m. EST until midnight. (Occasionally, the station will be taken down earlier for maintenance and update.)

9:00 a.m. Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton Live From Madison Square Garden, February 2008

If ever two names defined “legendary,” these are the guys. Clapton has had an illustrious solo career, but started with Cream, the Yardbirds, Blind Faith, and Derek & The Dominoes. Winwood the same, having enjoyed time with the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, and Blind Faith (with Clapton). This set is taken from their historic live performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden in February of 2008.

3:00 p.m. Chris Hedges on the Wages of Rebellion

In 2015, Chris Hedges wrote a book called The Wages of Rebellion: The Moral Imperative of Revolt. Although written for years ago, his message resonates today. Not much has changed, and we’re the only ones who can effect change — from outside this system.

6:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of Steely Dan

One of the finest bands to ever strap on a couple of guitars, Steely Dan offers a great library of innovative sound. Sit back and enjoy! Walter Becker and Donald Fagan are truly musical geniuses.

8:00 p.m. America’s Three Holy Wars with Howard Zinn

Our first broadcast featuring Howard Zinn. In this nearly hour-long talk, he discusses what he calls America’s three “holy wars.” These are the wars we are not allowed to criticize — The Revolutionary War, The Civil War, and World War II.
