Good Morning, Ungovernables! We’re coming to the end of Petty month, and we’re pulling out the stops. Now we have Tom the performer and Tom the DJ on the same day!

Here’s today’s line-up:
11:00 a.m. Stevie Ray Vaughan & Jeff Beck: The Fire Meets The Fury
Do we need to say any more than that?
2:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of Shawn Colvin
The importance of Shawn Colvin to women in music cannot be understated, although she often seems to bring up the rear.
5:00 p.m. Petty’s Peculiar Picks: The Best of Tom Petty’s Buried Treasure
One overlooked aspect of Tom Petty’s illustrious career was his stint as a DJ for Sirius XM Radio. He started his Buried Treasure show on the Deep Tracks Channel, but moved it to To Petty Radio when his own channel went on the air. Prior to his death, he did more than 400 hour-long shows that basically give you the history of rock n’ roll.
In this playlist, you’ll hear the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Bobby “Blue” Bland, LaVern Baker, Little Richard, and Wanda Jackson, among others.
9:00 p.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: Take The Highway Live, 1991
“Turn on, tune in, drop out.” -Timothy Leary
Good Morning, Ungovernables! Yes, it’s Mostly Open Stream on Wednesday, October 16, with a splash of Petty Party thrown in. Getting ready for the birthday weekend bash!

Here’s your line-up!
1:00 p.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: Live in Chicago
5:00 p.m. Mudcrutch Madness!
Tune in at www.tinyurl.com/ becomeungovernableradio
Good Morning, Ungovernables! We continue on with the Petty Fest today, and we add Bonnie Raitt, The Rolling Stones and Jeff Lynne’s ELO.

Here’s your line-up:
11:00 a.m. Bonnie Raitt Live at the Oakland Coliseum (1989)
2:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of the Rolling Stones
5:00 p.m. Jeff Lynne’s ELO: Live at Wembley Stadium (2017)
8:00 p.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: Long After Dark
We have an album focus tonight for our Petty Fest entry. This is a particularly good one.
Good Morning, Ungovernables! The Petty Party continues as Charlie T. Wilbury, Jr., channels his mate, Tom Petty.

Here’s your line-up for Indigenous People’s Day (fuck Christopher Columbus, the genocidal maniac):
11:00 a.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of Badfinger
The one, true, bona fide rock act signed by the Beatles to Apple Records. This is an underrated, underplayed monster of a band.
2:00 p.m. Echoes From the Canyon
The play list celebrating the pioneers of the California sound. Features The Mamas & The Papas, The Byrds, The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Stephen Stills, The Beach Boys, and many others.
6:00 p.m. Tom Petty: Subdued and Underappreciated
In my humble opinion, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were the finest rock n’rollers of their generation. But that isn’t all they were, especially due to the songwriting talent of Tom Petty. This hefty playlist features a quieter, gentler, more introspective Petty, one that is often underappreciated by the masses. Take a pill and chill. Features songs from the Heartbreakers, Mudcrutch, the Traveling Wilburys, and from Tom’s solo career.
Open streaming all night long after!

Another of those fabulous Wilburys, and the man that the Heartbreakers called the greatest producer they’ve ever worked with.
5:00 p.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: Live at Fenway Park, Boston (2014)
The 2014 gig in front of 40,000 ecstatic fans at historic Fenway Park in Boston is considered one of the band’s finest performances.
