Here’s your Thursday lineup:

Life on the road is a popular subject in music. You’ll hear from Canned Heat, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Steve Miller Band, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Dan Fogelberg, Bruce Springsteen, Linda Ronstadt, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Paul McCartney & Wings, The Eagles, Little Feat, The Band, Willie Nelson, Edwin Starr, Janis Joplin, Guy Clark, The Byrds, Asleep at The Wheel, Mudcrutch, Tom Rush, The Traveling Wilburys, Buffalo Springfield, The Guess Who and more!

4:00 p.m. Neil Young Live at The Cellar Door, Washington, D.C., November 30-December 2, 1970

This afternoon we’ve got Neil Young recorded live during his 1970 stint at The Cellar Door. Speaking of Neil Young, he will be giving a free concert in Ukraine in support of a nation that is truly fighting for democracy.

8:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of Bobbie Gentry

Bobbie Gentry never wanted to be a star. She wanted to write songs for other people to sing. However, once she released Ode To Billie Joe, that was not possible. She charted 11 singles during her career then, one day, she simply dropped out. She was a brilliant song writer and a great singer. She is also one of the first women to write and produce her own music. She’s a legend.

We’re here in good times and bad. These are decidedly bad times for all of us, but we must hang in. Great music at no cost that’s available all day and all night is a good antidote. The button is below.

We Start With The Traveling Wilburys, Then It’s Our ‘Travelin’ Fever’ EP and Wide Open Stream Tonight, Sunday, October 6, 2024

Always a favorite, both the supergroup (and this is a true supergroup) and this playlist of outtakes, alternate takes and extended sessions. What we essentially have here is five friends who harnessed that friendship to create some of the most amazing music on the planet. Roy was the first to go. Then George. Then Tom. But their music rocks on.
