We Feature Wildflowers’ Home Demos, Dusty Springfield In The Spotlight, and Tuesday Bluesday, October 20, 2020

Good Morning, Musicologists! We’ve cooked up another great batch of programming today for y’all. We move forward on the new Wildflowers project, give you some blue-eyed soul with Dusty Springfield, and it’s also Tuesday Bluesday!

John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers

Here’s your Tuesday Bluesday line-up:

11:00 a.m. Album of The Week: Wildflowers & All The Rest by Tom Petty NEW!

Today’s Airing: Wildflowers Home Demos

I labeled this ‘Home Demos’ because they are called Home Recordings in the official package. I think it’s important that people understand that these were supposed to be demos. Many were next to being release-worthy. This is basically Tom Petty playing all the instruments, singing, and recording.

3:00 p.m. In The Spotlight: The Music of Dusty Springfield

Here’s a little blue-eyed soul for you. Dusty is undoubtedly one of the stars here in The Mermaid Lounge. And totally underrated overall.

7:00 p.m. Tuesday Bluesday! John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers Live at The BBC

Although John Mayall never achieved commercial success, he’s one of the most respected British bluesmen in the business. Even now his followers continue to grow. This compilation was released in 2007, but it encompasses all 12 of the BBC sessions recorded between 1965-1967, as well as two performances recorded on The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1975. Enjoy!

Yeah, people. We’re going to say it again. We run 24/7 without interruption, no advertising, no endless DJ chatter, no politicians, no bullshit. And we’re free. There’s no hidden charges, no credit card required, and no personal information requested. Are we missing something?
