Good Morning, Musicologists! We’re getting closer to the end of the week; it’s all downhill from here. The one thing that will not be going downhill with us is the music selection. We’ve got some excellent stuff for you today.

Here’s today’s line-up:
11:00 a.m. In The Spotlight: The Music of Emmylou Harris
What can we say about this woman? She’s released so many albums and singles over her brilliant career it would take three paragraphs to enumerate them. She has won 14 Grammys and is in the Country Music Hall of Fame. In my opinion, if they put rappers in the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame (a practice which I think is absurd, frankly), Emmylou Harris belongs there. I recently read the projection is for 2027. What the fuck else does she need to do?
3:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Downhill From Everywhere by Jackson Browne
We’re winding down on our Album of The Week. This is our second-to-final airing; the final will be on Saturday. Get in on it while you can!
7:00 p.m. The Tedeschi Trucks Band Live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO, August 30, 2012
This great blues-rock band is led by married couple Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, and was formed in 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida. Revelator, their first album as a band, won the 2012 Grammy for Best Blues Album. Need we say anything more?
