It’s Tuesday Bluesday here in The Mermaid Lounge and we’ve got some great programming for you today starting with The B.B. King Blues Band in ‘live’ mode. Muddy Waters and Johnny Winter bring up the rear.

Here’s your Tuesday Bluesday lineup:
11:00 a.m. The B.B. King Blues Band Live at The North Sea Jazz Festival, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, October 7, 1987
B.B. King and his fabulous blues band light it up in Rotterdam, vintage 1987. Can’t go wrong here.
3:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Carney by Leon Russell
We’ve got our second airing of this week’s Album of The Week by Leon Russell. It’s one half straightforward roots rock n’ roll, and the other half psychedelia. Only Leon could pull this off.
7:00 p.m. Muddy Waters: The Johnny Winter Sessions
By the mid-seventies, the Chess label had folded and Muddy Waters was in need of a new label. He was also in need of a career revival. Enter Johnny Winter, one of the finest blues guitarists on the planet. Between 1976 and 1981, Winters produced three Grammy-winning albums for Muddy Waters, and also supported him on the road in 1979. This compilation gives you the some great blues by two blues masters.
Tuesday Bluesday is always a good day to begin your experience with us. In between all the blues, we’ve got our usual colleciton of great music via our wide Open Stream. We’re totally free 24/7. No surprises. We promise.
