Today We Have Amy Winehouse Live, John Mayall With Our Album of The Week, and The Final Volume of Our Summer of Love Series, Thursday, June 24, 2021

Good Morning, Musicologists. We’ve got some sweeeet programming lined up for today, including some “live” Amy Winehouse from Porchester Hall.

Today we feature Amy Winehouse live from Porchester Hall.

Here’s today’s line-up:

11:00 a.m. Amy Winehouse Live From Porchester Hall, London, March 8, 2007 NEW!

From our perspective, Amy Winehouse was a throwback, combining an eclectic mix of R & B, soul, and jazz, and delivering it all with a great contralto voice. We will soon be adding all of Amy’s music to our standard rotation, and are seeking out some additional live performances.

3:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Blues From Laurel Canyon by John Mayall

We are winding down on our current Album of The Week with our second to last airing. The final airing will be on Saturday. Don’t miss this great album, released just after the Bluesbreaker’s unfortunate demise.

7:00 p.m. The Summer of Love, Volume Three: Various Artists

This is the third and final piece of our Summer of Love Trifecta, with Jackie Wilson, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Lulu, Buffalo Springfield, Donovan, The Bee Gees, Wilson Pickett, Vanilla Fudge, The Association, The Rolling Stones, The Supremes, The Miracles, and more!

Tune in. Turn on. Drop out. Oh, wait. It’s not the weekend yet. But it’ll be here soon. In the meantime, you can still tune in our great radio station and enjoy the mix.

Women’s Week Continues With Emmylou Harris and Amy Winehouse; The New Inner Sanctum Debuts, Monday, July 20, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! We continue on with Women’s Week here in The Mermaid Lounge. No other radio venue we know gives women a decent platform. Women aren’t afterthoughts here on #BecomeUngovernable Radio.

Here’s today’s line-up:

11:00 a.m.   The Inner Sanctum: The Skull That Walked    NEW SPOOKTACULAR!

The first airing of our new Inner Sanctum episode.

2:00 p.m.     In the Spotlight: The Music of Emmylou Harris

A very nice retrospective of Emmylou’s repertoire, which is extensive and defies all the rules. That’s why we love her here in the lounge.

7:00 p.m.     Amy Winehouse Live From Porchester Hall, London, March 8, 2007   NEW!

When Amy Winehouse passed in 2011, she became yet another member of the ’27 Club’ of talented musicians who have died before their time. She joins Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and many others. She is in good company, but we wish she weren’t.

Oh, well, it’s good day in hell. Who said that? You need to join us today. We are totally free. I know you don’t believe me, but you can prove it to yourselves very easily by clicking on the link below. Listening is believing.
