10:00 p.m. Singer-Songwriter Series: The Music of Kate & Anna McGarrigle NEW!

Tonight we debut two of the most brilliant and influential singer-songwriters on the planet, the McGarrigle sisters. They have written some of Linda Ronstadt’s most iconic songs, including Heart Like A Wheel and You Tell Me That I’m Falling Down, but their songs have been recorded by many, many other artists as well. They also have had a successful career all their own, and you’ll hear them sing their own songs tonight.

We’re raring to go headlong into another year. It will be our sixth, but we’ve got another whole week left in 2022 and plenty of music to share. We’ve got some special stuff lined up for next week as we celebrate Music Festival Week. Stay tuned!

Time for Some Drivin’ Songs, The McGarrigle Sisters Stop By, and “Mojo” Returns on Thursday, June 25, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! We have great music on top, including an interlude in the early evening from our sisters up north, Kate & Anna McGarrigle.

Kate & Anna McGarrigle

Here’s your musical landscape for today:

11:00 a.m.   Drivin’ Songs: Various Artists    NEW!

Driving. It’s something most of us do and, for some, it cannot be avoided. Some drive for a living. It goes without saying that good driving songs are essential under these circumstances. We’ll share with you some of ours. Now, some of these songs are indeed about being on the road. Some others? Hell, they are just great songs to drive to. Let’s not get too analytical here.

3:00 p.m.     Album of The Week: Mojo by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

It’s hard to find an album these days with 15 songs on it. And it’s even harder to find an album with 15 really great songs.

7:00 p.m.     Tell My Sister: The Unreleased Recordings of the McGarrigle Sisters

I call the McGarrigle sisters the Canadian Treasure, but they are also ours. Maybe you know their most famous songs; maybe not. And maybe you do but don’t realize they were behind those songs. Like, Linda Ronstadt’s Heart Like A Wheel? Maria Muldaur’s Cool River? Emmylou Harris’ Going Back To Harlan? They also have a bunch of unreleased stuff. That’s what you’ll be hearing this evening. And you will be hearing more from them down the road as we expand our library.

Come on, people. Give it a shot. We don’t have money to spend on advertising and PR. We need your help. Come spend some time with us. It requires no money. Ever. If you like us, tell others.
