Good Morning, Ungovernables. We start out the day the way we usually do, with non-stop rock, rhythm and blues, and then we move into our specific set lists and informational shows.

We operate from 6:00 a.m. EST until midnight. (Occasionally, the station will be taken down earlier for maintenance and update.)

9:00 a.m. Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton Live From Madison Square Garden, February 2008

If ever two names defined “legendary,” these are the guys. Clapton has had an illustrious solo career, but started with Cream, the Yardbirds, Blind Faith, and Derek & The Dominoes. Winwood the same, having enjoyed time with the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, and Blind Faith (with Clapton). This set is taken from their historic live performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden in February of 2008.

3:00 p.m. Chris Hedges on the Wages of Rebellion

In 2015, Chris Hedges wrote a book called The Wages of Rebellion: The Moral Imperative of Revolt. Although written for years ago, his message resonates today. Not much has changed, and we’re the only ones who can effect change — from outside this system.

6:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of Steely Dan

One of the finest bands to ever strap on a couple of guitars, Steely Dan offers a great library of innovative sound. Sit back and enjoy! Walter Becker and Donald Fagan are truly musical geniuses.

8:00 p.m. America’s Three Holy Wars with Howard Zinn

Our first broadcast featuring Howard Zinn. In this nearly hour-long talk, he discusses what he calls America’s three “holy wars.” These are the wars we are not allowed to criticize — The Revolutionary War, The Civil War, and World War II.

9:00 a.m. Selections From the Concert for George, Royal Albert Hall

On the one year anniversary of George Harrison’s untimely death, his musical friends got together in Royal Albert Hall in London. The result was amazing.

1:00 p.m. The British Are Coming!

From the Hollies, to The Beatles, to Dusty Springfield, our musical world changed radically in the sixties, and it all started with “the British invasion.” Take a musical trip back in time with us.

4:00 p.m. Dr. Paul Craig Roberts on The New Enslavement of the Working Class

Like Chris Hedges and George Galloway, we expect Dr. Roberts to be a fixture on this station. He is an important voice in our movement, and this is a great jumping off point.

8:00 p.m. Deb Della Piana speaks with Nick Grecoll

In an interview from April this year, Deb Della Piana speaks with Nick Grecoll and GM Schauer about exactly what it means to become ungovernable.

“Brunch With the Beatles” Gets a Re-do!

To answer everyone’s first question, YES. Brunch With the Beatles will indeed be back and, when it does come back, it’ll be better than the first time around. We’re considering that initial effort practice…mere child’s play.

As for its projected return date? We’re not sure just yet, but we promise to give everyone a couple of weeks notice. Thanks for hanging in there with us through the growth pains.

Trust me. We’re just getting started.

Welcome to Day One!

Welcome to what feels to me like the umpteenth introduction of #BecomeUngovernable Radio. I promise, however, this one is for real. I promise to try daily to post special programming. Not only will we have some of the best music around, but we’ll have podcasts, interviews and, eventually, “live on air” programs.

#BecomeUngovernable Radio operates from 6 a.m. to midnight every day. All times are Eastern Standard Time. Times may change or be adjusted as demand requires and our audience grows!

At present, we have about 25,600 of our 50,000 songs uploaded. We will continue to upload over the next several weeks. As we upload more, we will add more special programming.

For our official “launch” on Sunday, July 7, here is the planned special programming that will break up what we call the “General Rotation” (which we hope you will love).

Generally speaking, a classic Motown play list featuring Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Aretha Franklin, to mention just a few.

1:00 p.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Live from Lucca, Italy (2012)

You haven’t experienced the Heartbreakers if you haven’t experienced them “live.”

4:00 p.m. Interview: Chris Hedges with WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson

The politically-motivated imprisonment of Julian Assange and continued persecution of Chelsea Manning are issues of prime importance to us. This is an excellent and timely interview.

7:00 p.m. Linda Ronstadt, Live in Hollywood (1980)

Despite a prolific career, there has never been an official Linda Ronstadt “live” album until February of this year. All songs were chosen by Linda Ronstadt for this amazing performance coinciding with the release of Mad Love.
