4:00 p.m. Mudcrutch Madness

If you don’t know the band Tom Petty left Gainesville with back in the day, you might want to get to know them. Bringing them back together in 2009 was one of the best ideas Tom Petty ever had.

7:00 p.m. Chris Hedges: A Radical Green Party Strategy

Although somewhat dated, this is a valuable look back. What if the Greens had adopted this strategy instead of pursuing the path they did? It’s a pretty safe bet that they are not in a position to win any time soon on the national stage. Perhaps if they’d listented, things might be different for all of us today.

This is our very first hour featuring Emmylou Harris, but I promise it will not be our last! Some of Emmylou’s friends come along for the ride.

4:00 p.m. War with Russia?

Chris Hedges interviews Stephen F. Cohen, professor emeritus of Russian Studies at Princeton University on the dangerous game we are playing with Russia.

8:00 p.m. The All-Girl Revue

These guys made some of the most innovative music on the planet in that sleek jazz-rock style. A great band.

2:00 p.m. Dr. Martin Pall on the Health Dangers of 5G

Dr. Martin Pall of the Biochemistry Department at Washington State University discusses the health dangers of the looming 5G techology. We think this is a very dangerous technology and encourage you to also look here.

5:00 p.m. Petty Theft: The Covers

No matter where they played, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers paid homage to those who inspired them and had an effect on their success. Here, the Heartbreakers do their mentors proud covering Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead and Bo Diddly. One of my favorite playlists EVAH.

8:00 p.m. Chris Hedges: Fascism in the Age of Trump

There are no solutions on eiher side, unfortunately. Many think Donald Trump was sent to “drain the swamp.” The exact opposite is true, despite those who remain delusional. Donald Trump is a product of a very sick system, much like his 2016 challenger, The Hillarious One. But make no mistake about it. Our present march to fascism, and it is happening, is being led by The Orange Scourge.

Chris Hedges interviews former British P.M. George Galloway on the state of politics in both the U.S. and the U.K. They touch on a wide range of subjects, including populism, racism, islamaphobia and antisemitism. Don’t miss this one!

A musical revue of Mick Jagger and the boys, still on the road making music for the masses.

7:00 p.m. Happy 73rd Birthday, Linda Ronstadt! Live in Hollywood 1980!

Linda Ronstadt turned 73 years old on July 15. Although Parkinsons Disease may have silenced her voice, she’ll always have a voice on #BecomeUngovernable Radio. Today, we pay homage with her live performance in Hollywood in 1980.

Good Morning, Ungovernables! Today is the 12th anniversary of the actual Collateral Murder event. In honor of our two political prisoners, we will be dedicating all of our “talk” programming today to interviews about or with Julian Assange.

Here’s our special programming for today:

10:00 a.m. Mudcrutch Madness

For those of you who do not know who or what Mudcrutch is, this is the band that Tom Petty left Gainesville, Florida with on his quest to make the best fucking music on the planet. Mudcrutch didn’t have much success out there…until it morphed into Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Petty brought Mudcrutch back together in 2009, and the result was quite different.

1:00 p.m. Chris Hedges Interviews Kristinn Hrafnsson, Editor-in-Chief of WikiLeaks

The politically-motivated imprisonment of Julian Assange and continued persecution of Chelsea Manning are issues of prime importance to us. This is an excellent and timely interview.

4:00 p.m. The All-Girl Revue

From Linda Ronstadt, to Patti Smith, to Aretha Franklin. It’s an all-girl party! We also throw in some Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, and Irma Thomas. Hey, but who’s name dropping?

7:00 p.m. Crucifying Julian Assange
