The Trio Sessions, The Heatbreakers Live @ Fenway & Our House Play List Dominate Monday, January 6, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! We’re switching it up a bit today on both content and timing. We think you’re going to like what we have today!

Linda Dolly Emmylou

11:00 a.m.     Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton: The Trio Sessions

This is a bona fide all-girl supergroup. Like the Traveling Wilburys, it was easy to make  music together (beyond their sheer talent) because they enjoyed each others’ company. The Trio Sessions give you the background: Alternative takes, some unreleased tunes, and plenty of great insight.

5:00 p.m.      Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: Live at Fenway Park, Boston (2014)

The Hypnotic Eye tour rolls through Boston producing what is considered one of their finest live performances.

8:00 p.m.      The #BecomeUngovernable House Play List

Can’t beat our house list of protest and revolution music.

We’re free and will always be! All you need to do is pull up a browser tab and tune us in!

Special Addition to Tuesday (12/10) Programming, and New Standard Rotation Music

On December 10, 1967, Otis Redding was killed when the twin-engine Beechcraft he was riding in crashed in the icy waters of Lake Monona, just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. Redding was just 26 years old, and had just recorded his only number one hit, (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay three days before his death.

Otis Redding

Today we honor Otis Redding by introducing In the Spotlight: The Music of Otis Redding at 6 p.m. EST. www.tinyurl.com/becomeungovernableradio

New Music Additions to the Standard Rotation!

It’s not uncommon for us to go on music hunts to find new stuff. We did that with Otis Redding and were able to add material we had not seen when we first began uploading to this station. We have added it to the standard rotation. In addition, we added these new artists over the past several days:

  • Clarence Carter
  • Alison Krauss (with and without Union Station)
  • Hank Williams Sr.
  • John Fogerty
  • Kate & Anna McGarrigle
  • Karla Bonoff
  • John Mayall

We also added to the Tom Petty and Grateful Dead libraries.

We have new shows on tap, and we will announce one of these by the weekend. The only way you hear about this is by following the blog, folks!
