It’s a (Mostly) Open-Stream Wednesday Until Our Updated House Playlist Later, September 30, 2020

Howdy, Music Lovers! We have a (mostly) open-stream Wednesday once again, as has become our tradition. We do have some great stuff on tap later!

It’s a mostly open-stream Wednesday!

Here’s your only programming for today:

6:00 p.m. The #BecomeUngovernable House Playlist UPDATED!

Our very first playlist ever back in 2017, recently updated. The Beatles, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Rolling Stones, Ten Years After, Bob Dylan, The Buffalo Springfield, The Who, Genesis, and many more.

Best way to figure out what we’re all about is to listen on an open stream day. That would make today your lucky day!

It’s Open Stream All Day Long, Circulating 25,000+ Songs Until The Beatles Serenade Us Later on Wednesday, September 2, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! It’s Wide-Open Wednesday here in The Mermaid Lounge, and we’re circulating 25,000+ plus songs, while we add even more today! A bit later on, we’ve got a visit from The Beatles.

Beatles Rock the Rooftop

Here’s our one and only bit of programming today!

6:00 p.m.   The Beatles’ Complete Apple Rooftop Concert: January 30, 1969

On a cold, windy day in January Beatle fans in London were treated to a free, impromptu concert by the band from the top of Apple Records headquarters at 3 Saville Row. People were hanging out windows and stood on balconies. Down below, the traffic came to a halt. A splendid time was guaranteed for all.

Tune us in today and see why we’re different. No credit card or personal information required. Just pull up a tab and chill.

On Wednesday, It’s (Mostly) Open Stream. Until We Get to My Favorite Color Later. August 5, 2020.

Good Morning, Music Lovers! It’s Wednesday all day, and it’s Open Stream almost all day. Until we get to the color blue later.

blue lion

Here’s today’s line-up, and it’s pretty simple:

6:00 p.m.   Deb’s Stream: All About Blue, Various Artists

Nope. It’s not ‘Da Blues’ at all, although some songs may be bluesy. It’s all about my favorite color today. Songs with the word blue in either the title or the lyrics. Or both.

Until then, we’re streaming 23,000+ songs all day long, so this would be the day to join us. We’re free. We do not require you to fill out personal information. We do not charge. We are ad free. In short, #BecomeUngovernable Radio is music nirvana.

It’s (Mostly) Open Stream Wednesday Until That Sweet Soul Sound of ’65 and the Inner Sanctum Later, Wednesday, July 29, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! It’s Wednesday and, as is the routine here lately, a (mostly) open stream day! Later, we get into some sweet soul music and much later, The Tell-Tale Heart.

Here’s today’s line-up:

Perpetual   Open Stream

We really only offer programming for seven hours a day. The rest of our day is open stream, and we run 24/7. And when you’re circulating 23,000+ songs, the likelihood of repeating a song in a 24-hour cycle is slim and none.

6:00 p.m.      Sweet Soul Music ’65: Various Artists

Features Otis Redding, Kim Weston, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Joe Tex, Lee Dorsey, The Dixie Cups, Fontella Bass, and many more!

10:00 p.m.    The Inner Sanctum: The Tell-Tale Heart

This is our last episode of The Inner Sanctum for this broadcast cycle of Old Time Radio. The final airing will be on Friday. Then we’ll take a short hiatus, and be back with a new series.

This is literally the perfect day for you to give us a try. WTF, America? Everyone else seems to “get it.”

It’s Open Stream All Day Until Valerie Carter Drops By To Serenade Us, The Inner Sanctum Gets a Late-Night Airing, Wednesday, July 22, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! Don’t be fooled! Women’s Week rolls along in spite of the fact that it’s Open Stream most of the day! Valerie Carter pays us a visit later.

Valerie Carter-2

Here’s your Wednesday line-up!

All Day     Open Stream Wednesday!

We are circulating 23,000 songs and playlists daily, totally commercial-free, no politicians, no chatter, and no bullshit.

7:00 p.m.   In the Spotlight: The Music of Valerie Carter   NEW!

You may not know singer-songwriter Valerie Carter like you know some of the other women we feature here, but you will. The little girl with the big voice fell under the radar, but not with her peers, who often sought her out to sing with them — including Jackson Browne, Little Feat, Linda Ronstadt, Don Henley and many others. She was also a long time member of James Taylor’s recording and touring band. Carter wrote the Judy Collins hit, Cook With Honey, and co-wrote Jackson Browne’s Love Needs a Heart. It is rumored that Steve Winwood’s song Valerie was inspired by her, as was Jackson Browne’s That Girl Could Sing

10:00 p.m.   The Inner Sanctum: The Skull That Walked

Get your late-night spooky on, people, as we wind down our Inner Sanctum collection.

I say this every day and I mean it: This is a great day to tune us in. No credit card, no information, no money required. We’re totally free and outside the system.

It’s Open Stream Until Wilbury Wednesday Begins in the Early Evening and The Death Ship Pulls Into Port, June 24, 2020

We’ve got a wide open stream all day long tomorrow, followed by our Wilbury Wednesday for the month of June, and our latest episode of The Inner Sanctum!

Traveling-Wilburys-Crop-1480x780

6:00 p.m.   Wilbury Wednesday! In The Spotlight: The Music of The Traveling Wilburys  NEW & EXPANDED!

Not only do we have every song made by the Wilburys here, but we recently found some bootleg outtakes from Volume 1. Seven songs to be exact. This is the greatest supergroup on the planet. You’re going to want to tune in.

The set list will be up under the Playlist tab. Scroll to the bottom!

10:00 p.m.   The Inner Sanctum: The Death Ship

A late-night layover as The Death Ship pulls into port with its cargo of Buddha only knows what. Probably crates full of Coronavirus. Who’s steering that thing?

Bad jokes are my specialty. But the music’s great and they don’t allow me on the air, do don’t worry about the jokes.
