janis-joplin

Here’s your Friday line-up:

12:00 p.m.   Janis Joplin: Live at The Fillmore East (1969)    NEW!

Janis was…Janis. She had a powerful voice, and a powerful stage presence. Although her career was tragically short, she was one of the most influential singer-songwriters of her generation. She has also achieved legend status in subsequent generations. There’s a reason for that when it happens.

5:00 p.m.    Instrumental Surf Anthology, Volume 1: Various Artists

We replay our first surf playlist from last weekend to get the juices flowing. On Saturday, you are introduced to the Blue Stingrays! Who are those guys? You’ll have to check the blog to find out!

8:00 p.m.    The Inner Sanctum: Hunter From Beyond

This is our final airing of this week’s episode. There’ll be a new episode on Monday!

Tune us in. You don’t need a device. All you need is a new tab on your browser or a phone. There’s nothing to fill out. No credit card required. Just free music. (We do this because we can.)

‘Deb’s Stream’ Debuts, Linda Ronstadt Hangs With Her Friends, and a Brand New “Inner Sanctum” on Monday, May 25, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! It’s another Monday, but it’s a holiday Monday…as much as it can be in such times. But one thing never changes here. The music’s always great!

Linda Dolly Emmylou B&W

Here’s your line-up for Memorial Day:

12:00 p.m.   The Inner Sanctum: Hunter From Beyond   NEW!

We open the week with our Fourth Episode of The Inner Sanctum. We hope you enjoy it. Bwaaahahahahaha!

3:00 p.m.     Deb’s Stream: The Best of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Live   NEW!

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers were road warriors. I’ve always said you really cannot appreciate this band fully until you’ve at least heard them live (seeing them is what you’d imagine a ‘religious experience’ to be). This collection of songs represent my personal live favorites from one of our official house bands. (The Beatles are the other.)

6:00 p.m.    Linda Ronstadt & Friends

Like Tom Petty’s untimely death, Linda Ronstadt’s inability to sing is a rough one for me. I imagine she’d still be making pretty great music. What we have, however, is an amazing musical journey with a singer who could — quite literally — sing anything. We’re going to have some fun with Linda Ronstadt over this summer.

You can access this playlist before the show by clicking here. Scroll until you find it!

Listen, we’re free. Seriously. All you need to do is click the link below. You don’t even need to open an account or provide personal information. We’re seriously outside the system. And we plan on staying there.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO in The Spotlight, The “Inner Sanctum” Replays, and Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris on the Road, Wednesday, May 20, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! It’s Truck Day at Ace and I’m already on the run, so here’s the lay of the musical landscape for today!

Here’s today’s line-up!

12:00 p.m.   In the Spotlight: The Music of Electric Light Orchestra

Tom Petty called Jeff Lynne the best music producer on the planet. He found The Electric Light Orchestra back in 1970, took the Heartbreakers to new heights, and was a Traveling Wilbury. That’s all you need to know about this guy.

4:00 p.m.     The Inner Sanctum: Episode 3, Death Has Claws

At least this particular death does.

6:00 p.m.     Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris: Live in Verona, Italy,  June 3, 2006   NEW!

Lucinda-Williams-11

Here’s your Monday line-up:

Lucinda Williams always said she’d rather play multiple nights at the Fillmore than play in an arena. She was definitely at her best in this venue.

4:00 p.m.    Badass Guitarists, Volume 2: Various Artists   NEW!

Duane Allman, Mike Campbell, Jimmy Page, John Fogerty, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Andrew Gold, and Bonnie Raitt, among others…

Dylan & Cash in Nashville, Dusty in London, Neil Young in The Spotlight, & The Inner Sanctum, Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! We’ve got a full slate today, including Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash’s Nashville Skyline sessions!

Bob Dylan-Johnny Cash

Here’s your mid-week lineup!

12:00 p.m.   Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash, Nashville 1969   NEW!

During 1969’s Nashville Skyline sessions, Bob Dylan teamed up with Johnny Cash to record a dozen songs, only one of which made it to the album. These informal recordings are relaxed and loose, and are easy on the ears…a meeting of two giants. The back-up musicians include Carl Perkins on guitar.

3:00 p.m.    Dusty in London: The Lost British Recordings

Dusty Springfield truly epitomized the term “blue-eyed soul,” and her career spanned five decades.

6:00 p.m.    In the Spotlight: The Music of Neil Young

Speaking of legendary artists, Neil Young has been a part of our musical DNA since the sixties as well, as a solo artist and with the Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

9:00 p.m.    The Inner Sanctum: Dead Reckoning

The second episode of the series!

Tune us in: www.tinyurl.com/becomeungovernableradio

We Have a New ‘Inner Sanctum’ Episode, Led Zeppelin in the Spotlight, and Mudcrutch Monday, on May 11, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables! We’re back at another Monday, and we have some great music and mayhem on tap.

led-zeppelin-mn-1130_af19affb5326b337be3b41f0b977fe4a.fit-760w

Here’s your Monday line-up!

11:00 a.m.   The Inner Sanctum: Dead Reckoning

We move on to Episode 2 of our old time radio show, The Inner Sanctum.

2:00 p.m.     Mudcrutch Monday!

Today in the Spotlight, we have Mudcrutch. The band that would morph into the force that’s known as Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. In reality, Mudcrutch was a force unto itself, returning under Petty in 2008 to make some brilliant music. Failing to see this band during it’s small-venue tour in 2016 is one of the great regrets of my musical life.

6:00 p.m.     In the Spotlight: The Music of Led Zeppelin   NEW!

We’re spending some quality time with the original headbangers tonight. Formed in London in 1968, they celebrated their 50th year in service to the musical masses in 2018.

Where you at? Tune us in. We’re free and always will be.

It’s Almost an Open Stream Day, But with Benefits. The Trio Sessions and a Replay of ‘The Inner Sanctum’ Are On Tap, Friday, May 8, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables. Today we have an amazing ‘new’ music offering in the Trio Sessions with Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton.

Here’s your Friday line-up!

1:00 p.m.   The Trio Sessions With Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton   NEW!

I guess Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce qualified as a supergroup when they formed Cream. Why these three ladies are not technically considered one is well beyond my understanding, but they certainly are here at #BecomeUngovernable Radio.

We have featured the Trio albums in the past, but these are the Trio Sessions, with remasters, alternate versions and previously unreleased material. If you’ve never heard angels sing before, you are about to.

By the way, you can see the entire playlist in our Playlist section. Just scroll to the bottom of the page!

6:00 p.m.    The Inner Sanctum: Black Sea Gull (Replay)

Tune us in. Next week, we will air a new episode.

Do yourself a favor and tune us in. We’re dead serious about music.
