Here’s your Saturday lineup:

9:00 a.m. The Original Sixties Rotation, Volume One: Various Artists

This was our very first EP and it was built from two shorter playlists. You’ll hear Del Shannon, Little Eva, The Drifters, The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Hollies, The Walker Brothers, Mary Wells, Dusty Springfield, The Searchers, The Monkees, Sonny & Cher, Petula Clark, Glen Campbell, Johnny Rivers, The Dave Clark Five, The Supremes, Harry Nilsson, The Band, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, Simon & Garfunkel, Blind Faith, Janis Joplin, Chuck Berry, The Temptations, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, The Who, Bob Dylan, Tony Joe White, Barry McGuire, Fats Domino, Procol Harum and more!

4:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Rockstar by Dolly Parton FINAL AIRING!

This is the final airing of Dolly’s great rock opus, in response to her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, don’t fret. It is party of our standard rotation now.

Every time we play Fats, I ask the same question: Was anybody singing rock n’ roll before Fats? I’m not sure. For absolute sure, Fats Domino was a true pioneer of the genre…one of the forefathers who made it happen. Today, along with his long-time collaborator, Dave Bartholomew, Fats is our featured singer-songwriter.

Sunday Brings Rosanne Cash and Her AOW, and ‘The Original Sixties Rotation’ Multi-Artist EP, September 24, 2023

3:00 p.m. The Original Sixties Rotation: Various Artists

10:00 a.m. The Original Sixties Rotation: Various Artists

This particular volume generally covers the early-to-mid sixties, although we can’t guarantee that some later tunes didn’t sneak in. You’ll hear Del Shannon, Little Eva, The Drifters, The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Hollies, The Walker Brothers, Mary Wells, Dusty Springfield, The Searchers, The Monkees, Sonny & Cher, Petula Clark, Glen Campbell, Johnny Rivers, The Dave Clark Five, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Harry Nilsson, The Band, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, Simon & Garfunkel, Blind Faith, Janis Joplin, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, The Who, Bob Dylan, Tony Joe White, Barry McGuire, Procol Harum, The Temptations, Fats Domino and more!

We bid this great selection a fond farewell today. Tomorrow morning there’ll be a brand new album of the week for you!

8:00 p.m. Singer-Songwriter Series: The Music of John David Souther NEW!

This guy had our album of the week a couple of weeks ago and we promised he’d be back, so here he is. Generally know as a songwriter, J.D. Souther is very underrated as a singer. His songs have been sung by many, including Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt. He has also been part of the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band. Tonight we introduce him as our featured singer-songwriter.

Before, in between and long after our programming is over, we give you that great wide Open Stream courtesy of The Music Mermaid. As you know by now, she has impeccable taste in music. We’re totally free 24/7 with no commercial interruptions.

On This Keep-It-Simple Sunday, We’ve Got Our AOW by Buffalo Springfield and ‘The Original Sixties Rotation’ EP, May 21, 2023

Good morning, musicologists! As you know, we keep it simple on Sundays with plenty of wide Open Stream, but we do have a great new AOW and our original sixties rotation.

Here’s your simple Sunday lineup:

11:00 a.m. Album of The Week: Buffalo Springfield by Buffalo Springfield NEW!

Although Buffalo Springfield wasn’t satisfied with this album, recorded in the summer of 1966 at Gold Star Studios, this was a groundbreaking album in many respects. Five of the songs were written by a guy named Neil Young, but he only sang lead on one of those. Richie Furay sang lead on the rest. Their first release from the album did not catch on nationally, but did make the Top 40 in Los Angeles during the month of August. However, by December, Stephen Stills’ For What It’s Worth became a national hit. The rest, as they say, is musical history. Aside from Neil Young, Stephen Stills and Richie Furay, the band was rounded out by Bruce Palmer (bass guitar) and Dewey Martin (drums, backing vocals).

3:00 p.m. The Original Sixties Rotation: Various Artists

Our first sixties extended playlist with five uninterrupted hours of music from the early-to-mid sixties (although I am sure some songs from the latter part of that decade slipped in). You’ll hear Del Shannon, Little Eva, The Drifters, The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Hollies, The Walker Brothers, Mary Wells, Dusty Springfield, The Searchers, The Monkees, Sonny & Cher, Petula Clark, Glen Campbell, Johnny Rivers, The Dave Clark Five, The Supremes, Harry Nilsson, The Band, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, Simon & Garfunkel, Blind Faith, Janis Joplin, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, The Who, Bob Dylan, Tony Joe White, Barry McGuire, Procol Harum, The Temptations, Fats Domino and more!

It’s a day of rest, fellow citizens, so why not kick back and relax with some great sixties music (and more). We’re totally free, we’re on 24/7, and we accept absolutely no commercial advertising. Just do it.

Today We Bid Farewell to ‘Venus And Mars,’ Say Hello to ‘The Original Sixties Rotation’ and Intro JT as Our Featured Singer-Songwriter on Saturday, March 25, 2023

11:00 a.m. The Original Sixties Rotation: Various Artists

We’re back with our EP covering the early-to-mid sixties, although I’m quite sure some songs beyond that time may well be sprinkled in. Nevertheless, it was a great generation of music.

8:00 p.m. Singer-Songwriter Series: The Music of James Taylor NEW!
