This one has been on my ‘to do’ list for a while and I’ve finally brought it to fruition here. Carly Simon began singing with her sister, Lucy, back in 1963 and strung together a bunch of great hits during the seventies like Anticipation, That’s The Way I’ve Always Heard It Should Be, and You’re So Vain. While Mick Jagger appears on You’re So Vain and everyone assumed it was about him, Carly Simon actually revealed that it was about Warren Beatty.

We’re just getting warmed up for the weekend here in The Mermaid Lounge, so do give us a shot. We’re totally free 24/7 and we do not run commercial advertising. They have written some of Linda Ronstadt’s most iconic songs, including Heart Like A Wheel and You Tell Me That I’m Falling Down, but their songs have been recorded by many, many other artists as well. They also have had a successful career all their own, and you’ll hear them sing their own songs tonight.

We’re raring to go headlong into another year. It will be our sixth, but we’ve got another whole week left in 2022 and plenty of music to share. We’ve got some special stuff lined up for next week as we celebrate Music Festival Week. Stay tuned!

Considering the fact that they’ve inducted rap artists, ignoring a guy like Dan Fogelberg seems even more ridiculous. But then again, they didn’t induct Linda Ronstadt until she could no longer sing, and it took Carole King until 2021. These are WTF moments for me. Nevertheless, hope springs eternal. We love Dan Fogelberg here in The Mermaid Lounge, and we play his music for you tonight.
