The year was 1968, and Club 47 was the place. We remember Linda Ronstadt playing there and getting roast beef sandwiches at Elsie’s in Harvard Square. Others also launched their careers there, like Bonnie Raitt. This turn was for Joni.

Released in 1988, and thus began a magical journey indeed for all of us with the Wilburys: Spike (George Harrison), Clayton (Jeff Lynne), Muddy (Tom Petty), Boo (Bob Dylan) and Lefty Jr. (Roy Orbison; named posthumously). There has not been another supergroup like it. There may not ever be.
