At Midweek, We Offer CSNY Live at Wembley Stadium, and The Ballads of Linda Ronstadt, Wednesday, May 12, 2021

Good Morning, Musicologists! Welcome to Wednesday in The Mermaid Lounge! We have new live music from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young today along with the ever-wonderful vocals of Linda Ronstadt.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, one of our favorite supergroups.

Here’s your mid-week line-up:

11:00 a.m. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Live at Wembley Stadium, London, November 14, 1974 NEW!

These guys made some of the best music ever. And although the Wilburys remain our absolute favorite supergroup ever, they are pretty close at number two without question. This is a new playlist for us. We hope you enjoy it.

5:00 p.m. Linda Ronstadt: The Ballads

Nobody sings them better than Ronstadt, from our perspective. Today we go back to a favorite playlist we haven’t aired for quite some time.

We’re almost over the hump, folks. Today, we have some great music interspersed among the 27,000 rotating Open Stream songs we offer on a daily basis. Give us a shot.

Our Official House Playlist, Our Album of The Week, and Some Supergroup Music Await You on Thursday, March 18, 2021

Good Morning, Musicologists! After a day of Open Stream, we’re back with some programming here in The Mermaid Lounge! We’ve got a fine collection of material here for you today.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young is one of the supergroups you’ll hear later tonight!

Here’s today’s line-up:

11:00 a.m. #BecomeUngovernable House Playlist: Various Artists

We kick off the day with some great music. In fact, some of the music that helped inspire me to start this radio station. You’ll hear Bob Dylan, Barry McGuire, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Band, The Beatles, John Lennon, Ten Year’s After, The Who, The Animals, The Chambers Brothers, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and more!

3:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Songbird by Eva Cassidy

The newest addition to our women’s line-up is Eva Cassidy, who died tragically at the age of 33 from cancer in 1996. We are winding down on Songbird. We will have one more airing on Saturday before choosing a new album. Don’t miss it!

7:00 p.m. Sounds of The Supergroups: Various Artists

We haven’t heard this one in a long while, so tonight we pay respects to the supergroups. This playlist features Derek & The Dominos; Emerson, Lake & Palmer; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; The Traveling Wilburys; Cream; The Highwaymen; Blind Faith; and Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt & Emmylou Harris (yes, a bona fide supergroup even though the male dominated rock world never even mentions them in association with the word).

Tune us in. We’re free all the time, we run uninterrupted 24/7, no advertising, no “subscription” required, and no personal information requested. Did I mention you don’t need to take your credit card out of your wallet?

It’s Almost an Open Stream Day, But with Benefits. The Trio Sessions and a Replay of ‘The Inner Sanctum’ Are On Tap, Friday, May 8, 2020

Good Morning, Ungovernables. Today we have an amazing ‘new’ music offering in the Trio Sessions with Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton.

Here’s your Friday line-up!

1:00 p.m.   The Trio Sessions With Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton   NEW!

I guess Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce qualified as a supergroup when they formed Cream. Why these three ladies are not technically considered one is well beyond my understanding, but they certainly are here at #BecomeUngovernable Radio.

We have featured the Trio albums in the past, but these are the Trio Sessions, with remasters, alternate versions and previously unreleased material. If you’ve never heard angels sing before, you are about to.

By the way, you can see the entire playlist in our Playlist section. Just scroll to the bottom of the page!

6:00 p.m.    The Inner Sanctum: Black Sea Gull (Replay)

Tune us in. Next week, we will air a new episode.

Do yourself a favor and tune us in. We’re dead serious about music.

The Traveling Wilburys

Here’s your Sunday Funday programming!

11:00 a.m.     Album of the Week: Blind Faith, by Blind Faith

The first and only album by this supergroup was released by Polydor Records in 1969. The band was made up of Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker from Cream, Steve Winwood of The Spencer Davis Group, and Rick Grech of Family.

You can always learn more about our Album of the Week by clicking on its photo in the blog’s sidebar!

2:00 p.m.      Sounds of the Supergroups: Various Artists  NEW!

Speaking of supergroups, this playlist covers Blind Faith, The Traveling Wilburys, Cream, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and the supergroup nobody talks about…Ronstadt, Harris & Parton. It’s spectacular.

5:00 p.m.     Bob Dylan and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Live in Sacramento (’86)

After our Dylan & Heartbreakers feature, we’ll be on wide open stream!

It’s Sunday. A day of rest. Tune us in.
