He also happens to be the co-founder of The Beach Boys, and that is certainly what he is best known for. Today we pay him respects as both because you wouldn’t have one without the other.

Paul Butterfield Blues Band is widely regarded as one of the greatest electric blues bands ever, whose contributions to the genre during the 60s and 70s cannot be denied, but it’s safe to say a lot of Butterfield’s fans were not enthralled with this release. That’s what happens when people get pidgeon-holed into doing the same thing over and over. Do I think it’s one of their best? Nope. I don’t. But I don’t regret owning it, or playing it as our AOW.
