Here’s today’s musical lineup:

9:00 a.m. The #BecomeUngovernable House Playlist: Various Artists

The music that started this whole idea of mine with Barry McGuire, The Temptations, Edwin Starr, Peter Tosh, The Beatles, Genesis, T-Rex, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, Country Joe & The Fish, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Joan Baez, CSNY, Pink Floyd, The Animals, Ten Years After, The Plastic Ono Band, Billy Joel, George Harrison, Sam Cooke, The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix, Three Dog Night, Jimmy Cliff, Richie Havens, Marvin Gaye, The Association, Phil Ochs, Tom Rush, Pete Seeger, The Band and more!

4:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Roll With It by Steve Winwood FINAL AIRING!

Steve Winwood’s great AOW is in its final airing phase today. Tomorrow, we’ll have a brand new selection here.

A lot of people younger than me remember Roy Orbison as a Wilbury. But before he was a Wilbury (no small feat, I might add), he had a brilliant solo career. Known as ‘The Caruso of Rock,’ Roy Orbison’s voice is so distinctive you’d never mistake him for anyone else. A key influencer for generations of musicians who followed, including Tom Petty, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Lynne, his Wilbury bandmates.

I’m on vacation, so I’m not waxing poetic this morning about why you should make us part of your daily routine. You’ll figure it out eventually.

We kick off the day with music from ‘across the pond’ as they say, from The Beatles The Who, Dave Mason, Electric Light Orchestra, Petula Clark, The Zombies, The Hollies, Dusty Springfield, Small Faces, Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, Queen, The Animals, The Rolling Stones, the Dave Clark Five, The Bee Gees, The Moody Blues, Rod Stewart, George Harrison, Them, Herman’s Hermits, Gerry & The Pacemakers, Badfinger, The Yardbirds, Traffic, Elton John, Lulu, Pink Floyd, Yes, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, The Spencer Davis Group, Cream, Donovan and more!

7:00 p.m. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Live at The Vic Theater, Chicago, IL, April 19, 2003

This was a great performance from what is considered one of the best road bands on the planet (actually, one of the very best bands on the planet). There’s nothing like seeing TPATH live (which I had the good fortune to do four times). TPATH is one of our official House Bands (along with The Beatles). Tonight we’ve got them live from the Vic Theatre in Chicago.

Tune in, folks. Join your worldwide friends. We have France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Israel, Australia, Russian Federation, Portugal and Spain on all night and into the morning. Where are you?

Midweek Brings a Ride On ‘The Psychedelic Express,’ Christine McVie, and ‘Live’ Steely Dan Later, Wednesday, March 22, 2023

Good morning, music lovers! We’re at midweek and we start off with our ‘Psychedelic Express’ EP, move on to our singer-songrwriter series, and give you some ‘live’ Steely Dan to cap off today’s programming.

Here’s today’s musical lineup:

9:00 a.m. The Psychedelic Express: Various Artists

Nothing like a little psychedelia to start out today’s musical journey. It’s a genre that transcends time, even though its origins began during the sixties. You’ll hear Vanilla Fudge, The Chambers Brothers, The Beatles, Electric Prunes, The Animals, Jefferson Airplane, Blues Image, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Donovan, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Byrds, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Traffic, Cream, Dr. John, Procol Harum, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Canned Heat, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra, Tommy James & The Shondells, Mudcrutch, Blind Faith, Grateful Dead, Velvet Underground, Big Brother & The Holding Company and more!

4:00 p.m. Singer-Songwriter Series: The Music of Christine McVie

We bring the late, great Christine McVie back for a second spin as our featured singer-songwriter this afternoon.

7:00 p.m. Steely Dan Live at The National City Pavillion, Cincinnati, OH, July 13, 2008

Tonight we feature some live music from one of the greatest bands of the seventies. Back when they were big, I used to hear the rap on them was that they couldn’t reproduce their sound live and onstage. Don’t know where that came from. I never had that experience when I saw them live. Hogwash.

Get a midweek boost here with some great music, including just about five hours of mind-blowing music to get you into the afternoon. We’re on 24/7, we’re totally free, and there’s no commercial advertising. No kidding.

We Keep It Simple on Sunday With Our Surprising New Album of The Week and ‘Here Comes The Night’ EP, March 5, 2023

Good morning, musicologists! We love it when musicians refuse to be “defined” and Dr. John is one of those guys. Today we have a brand new album featuring Dr. John and two of his friends, along with our ‘Here Comes The Night’ EP.

Here’s your laid-back Sunday lineup:

11:00 a.m. Album of The Week: Bluesiana Triangle by Art Blakey, Dr. John and David “Fathead” Newman NEW!

I stumbled upon this album several years ago because of my obsession with Dr. John, but it’s conception was really Art Blakey, an American jazz drummer. In addition to Dr. John on piano, guitar and vocals, it features David “Fathead” Newman, a jazz and rhythm & blues saxophonist, who is best known for his work with Ray Charles in the 50’s and early 60’s. The album is a collection of great jazz, blues and funk music that has become one of my favorites.

3:00 p.m. Here Comes The Night: Various Artists

We’re back with our EP about night time (it’s the right time, according to the J. Geils Band). In addition to them, you’ll hear Warren Zevon, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Them, The Beatles, Van Morrison, Patti Smith, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bruce Springsteen, The Kinks, The Electric Prunes, Phoebe Snow, Joe Walsh, The Eagles, The Ronettes, John Cougar Mellencamp, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, The Doors, Poco, Neil Diamond, The Animals, The Band, The Rolling Stones, The Traveling Wilburys, Sam Cooke, Jimmy Cliff, Bonnie Raitt, Don McLean, Steve Winwood, Cat Stevens and more!

Yes, it’s an official day of rest, so kick back and tune us in. Even if you’ve got stuff to do around the house, we make great background music because we run absolutely NO commercial advertising at any time. We also don’t spend a hell of a lot of time talking. We’re all about the music and we’re totally free.

We Leap Over the Hump With Our ‘Color My World’ EP, Our AOW, and The Animals In the Spotlight, Thursday, March 2, 2023

Good morning, musicologists! We’re over the week’s hump as we start the downslide to the weekend, and we’ve got three slots of great programming for you today.

Here’s your Thursday lineup:

9:00 a.m. Color My World: Various Artists

We start out with songs that refer to colors in the title, lyrics or both! You’ll hear Linda Ronstadt, Valerie Carter, The Kinks, The Beatles, The Traveling Wilburys, Jonathan Edwards, George Harrison, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, John Hiatt, Joni Mitchell, Badfinger, Donovan, Jackson Browne, Bob Dylan, Ry Cooder, Elton John, Procol Harum, Electric Light Orchestra, Amy Winehouse, The Who, Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, Sam & Dave, Jefferson Airplane, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Elvis Costello, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, The Hollies, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Booker T & The MG’s, Lucinda Williams, Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Cougar Mellencamp and more!

4:00 p.m. Album of The Week: Innervisions by Stevie Wonder

Many have said that this is the album where Stevie Wonder took a giant leap into more self awareness and social consciousness. It certainly helped him shed that “Little” Stevie Wonder aura.

7:00 p.m. In the Spotlight: The Music of The Animals

The Animals were a great blues-rock band founded in the early sixties in Castle upon Tyne in England. Their driving force was the great voice of Eric Burdon.

We’re on 24/7 at no charge to you. No surprises. No lie. This is truly a labor of love. It’s all about the music. Come see for yourself.
